The Victor Story
After the success of the Reich-pulverising Halifax bomber, Handley Page soon looked at new designs and the Victor was born. One of three V bombers, the Victor proved to be remarkable in its role and saw service with Bomber Command with the Yellow Sun hydrogen bomb. Flying faster and higher than the Vulcan, the Victor also saw action as a low-level bomber and carried the Blue Steel nuclear missile. However, by the mid to late 1960s, the future of the Victor was in doubt. This accessible volume explores the successes of the Victor from its inception, through its heyday to being scrapped and converted to fuel tankers. An unsung hero of the Falklands conflict, and more besides, discover facts and see the fully coloured pictures of this iconic bomber contained within these pages.
